Requiring face covers and 590 partner entrance

April 12, 2020

All Salm Partners,

There are two items we would like to update you on:

  • Requiring a face cover (mask or shield) for all partners
  • Making the 590 Partner entrance our one and only entrance

Requiring a face cover (mask or shield) for all partners

Effective today, all partners are required to wear a face mask or shield at all times while at Salm Partners. The following situations will be the only exceptions:

  • When a face mask or shield creates a safety hazard
    • These need to be approved by our E&HS Manger, Bill Hagenow
  • In an office, by yourself, behind a closed door
  • When eating or drinking in the break rooms

Guidelines from the CDC for face covers and instructions for how to make your own can be found at the following link: How to Wear and Make a Cloth Face Covering

Making the 590 Partner entrance our one and only entrance

The security guard has been set up with an IR camera to take partner temperatures prior to entering the building. To ensure that everyone has their temperature taken, the only entrance into Salm Partners is now the 590 partner entrance. All other entrances have been disabled. For safety reasons, all exits remain enabled.  This means the following:

  • All partners and visitors will go through the security guard and have their temperatures taken
  • No one will be buzzed in through our former front entrance
  • Visitors will have their temperature taken, sign in, and the security guard will call the partner they are visiting to come to the turnstile to meet them
  • If you leave through any exit, such as 570, you will have to go to 590 to re-enter
  • If you go outside on break, your temperature will be taken again when entering

Previously, we said partners could reenter 570 through the turnstile when on break.  Due to staggered shifts, such as the 12 hour shifts, this created the opportunity for partners to accidentally enter without having their temperature checked.  This change will ensure everyone has their temperature taken.

Both these changes will increase partner safety, which is our number one priority. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in implementing them.

Have a safe day!
