All Salm Partners:
There are three topics that I would like to update you on regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus):
Communities throughout the country are limiting travel and gathering sizes except for “essential critical infrastructure.” To help states and local communities define what is essential and critical, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has produced a list of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers”. This includes food production, recognizing the critical service Salm Partners and the rest of the food industry provide in ensuring the nation's safe, wholesome food supply.
As of today, there are two confirmed COVID-19 cases in Brown County and evidence of community transmission. “Community transmission” means that an individual has contracted COVID-19 from the general public, as opposed to from someone that was known to have COVID-19. Therefore, you must assume that people in the general public may transmit COVID-19 to you.
The way to reduce transmission is to follow the guidelines of the CDC, as communicated throughout our facilities. These include:
We have doubled the cleaning of our common areas, and we ask all partners to utilize the provided sanitation supplies to wipe down the common areas they use.
If you know anyone who needs work and would like to support this country’s food supply, we are hiring for many roles, including production line workers, operators, QA techs, supply chain, maintenance techs, and supervisors. Applications can be made online at our careers page. As always, you are eligible for a referral bonus if someone you refer is hired.
You are essential to this nation’s food supply, and you can take great pride in providing this service! Your actions to stay healthy will protect you, your family, your fellow partners, and our greater community.
Thanks for being a partner,
