COVID-19 testing, symptoms, and our defenses

April 27, 2020

All Salm Partners,

This note is to update you on three items:

  1. Additional COVID-19 testing tomorrow 12:00 PM (noon) until 2:00 PM
  2. Updated list of COVID-19 symptoms from the CDC
  3. A new location on our web page showing our response to COVID-19

Additional COVID-19 Testing

For anyone who was not able to make the testing on Friday, we will have additional testing available between 12:00 PM (noon) and 2:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday April 28th. Thanks to all 350 partners that took the time to be tested on Friday.  The test results are coming in slower than we thought, so it looks like we will receive all of them during the next couple days. If you do have a positive test, we will contact you right away. We will communicate a summary of the results once they are all in.

Updated COVID-19 Symptoms from the CDC

The CDC has updated the symptoms for COVID-19 to the following (from the CDC website):

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Chills
  • Repeated shaking with chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell

Our COVID-19 Defenses

To better communicate the steps we have taken to fight COVID-19 in our workplace, we have added a new page to our website called COVID-19. Here you will find a few videos, links to some of our latest news, and a FAQ. You may share this with your friends and family who ask you about what we are all doing at Salm Partners to keep each other and the nation’s food supply safe.

Finally, in order to protect each other, we need to be steadfast in following our social distancing and hygiene practices. When walking through our plant, please walk single file and keep 6 feet distance from the person in front of you. The red dots on the floor mark off 6 feet through our hallways. Also, we must help each other by making sure we are all wearing  our PPE correctly. Company issued face masks must be worn at all times and cover your mouth and nose. Adhering to these rules will help protect you, your loved ones, and all of our partners.

Thanks for being a partner,
Keith M. Lindsey
