COVID-19 testing and extension of $3/hr premium pay

May 5, 2020

All Salm Partners,

This note will cover four topics:

  1. Thank you to our partners!
  2. COVID-19 testing tomorrow 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  3. Extension of $3 / hour Premium Pay
  4. COVID-19 audit results

Thank you to our partners!

The month of April was one of the most challenging months in our history, but it was also one of our finest moments. Together, we confronted a challenge that the world has never faced. We adapted, implemented change, supported each other, and protected the food supply of our country. The challenges are not over, and we must continue to adapt to them. Organizations that learn to safely and efficiently operate in this new environment will thrive and create opportunity. I am proud to say Salm Partners is rising to the challenge and will continue to provide an avenue of growth to our partners!

COVID-19 testing tomorrow 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

COVID-19 testing is now mandatory for all partners. Tomorrow, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, testing will be held for anyone who hasn’t had a test.  By taking the test, you are protecting yourselves, your loved ones, our partners, and our community. Thanks for your participation.

Extension of $3 / hour Premium Pay

In recognition of the outstanding job you are doing to keep each other safe and secure our nation’s food supply, our $3 per hour premium pay is going to extend through May 30th. You will receive this premium pay for hours you work or hours of sick leave due to being ill or having close contact with someone who is ill. One of the most important steps you can take to protect your fellow partners is to stay home if you are sick, so you do not lose this pay if you stay home when sick.

COVID-19 audit results

Throughout the last month, we have been performing COVID-19 audits to verify that our COVID-19 defenses are effective. You can be confident that the controls we have added into our facility, including IR temperature scans, physical dividers, increased cleaning, and COVID-19 testing are as good as any plant in the country. The two most frequent findings of our audits are behavior based: wearing your face mask over the mouth and nose and maintaining social distance. Please remember that in order to be effective, your face mask needs to cover your mouth and nose at all times, not just your mouth. Also, one of the strongest ways to protect you partners and yourself is to remain 6 feet apart.  In our hallways, please walk single file and use the floor markings to help maintain 6 feet from other partners.

Thanks for being a partner,

Keith M. Lindsey
